One of Nutwood’s most distinctive natural spaces—a living park where wildlife, conservation, recreation and community life exist side by side.
Park Maps & Illustrated Guide
Explore Meerkat Park
The park moves through woods, open meadows, ponds, wetlands, conservation habitat and gathering spaces. Trails connect the landscape while helping visitors enjoy it without intruding on sensitive wildlife areas.
Observation & Wildlife
The Observation Tower and designated wildlife-viewing areas provide places to stop, watch and photograph while respecting the habitat below.
Woods & Meadows
Oakwood Grove, West Woods, Central Meadow, South Meadow and Sunset Meadow give the park a changing rhythm of shade, open grass and quiet places to linger.
Water & Wetlands
North Pond and East Pond & Wetlands add aquatic habitat, boardwalk experiences and another side of the park’s living ecosystem.
Community Places
Meerkat Commons, the Gathering Lawn, Heritage Grove and History Circle provide room to gather, remember and enjoy the park together.
Life Beneath the Park
Below the trails, woods and meadows is another living community. The meerkat colony uses an extensive burrow system that changes over time as generations are born and activity shifts. Park records distinguish changing burrow conditions and larger clusters so future observations can be compared with earlier ones.
The details belong in the Nutwood Master Library. For visitors, the important thing is simpler: the colony is not merely watched—it is respected, documented and protected.
A Little About Meerkats
Conservation & N²V Stewardship
Meerkat Park belongs to the Nutwood Community, with Tim serving as its Legal Guardian. Through Nutty Night Ventures, community members take part in maintenance, cleanup, beautification, wildlife protection, habitat care and long-term documentation.
Conservation extends beyond the meerkats. Woodlands, meadows, ponds, wetlands and protected habitat all contribute to the park’s ecosystem.

Our Park, Our Community
Meerkat Park is part of a living Nutwood community. People come here to walk, observe wildlife, gather, volunteer, care for the land and sometimes simply sit still long enough to notice what is happening around them. Its connections to the rest of Nutwood are natural, but the park keeps an identity entirely its own.
The Magic of Meerkat Park
Sometimes the magic is obvious—a meerkat standing watch, a view from the Observation Tower, or wildlife moving through the landscape. Sometimes it is quieter: a trail through the woods, still water, or simply having enough time to notice what is around you.
