Article I — Name, Purpose, and Foundation

The official name of this community shall be Nutwood. Nutwood exists to provide a welcoming community founded upon friendship, trust, respect, kindness, volunteerism, personal growth, music, fellowship, and genuine human connection. Every member is encouraged to contribute to a culture where all are treated with dignity and where lasting friendships can flourish.

The community recognizes that its roots began with the original Nutty Nights. While honoring its history, Nutwood has grown into a broader community whose purpose is to create a safe, welcoming, and supportive home where members encourage one another, celebrate together, serve their communities, and preserve the traditions that make Nutwood unique.

The Original Charter of Nutwood shall serve as the supreme governing document of the community. All official policies, traditions, appointments, records, and future amendments shall be consistent with the principles established by this Charter.

Article II — Membership and Community

Membership in Nutwood is founded upon a commitment to friendship, mutual respect, integrity, kindness, and the well-being of the community. Every member is expected to contribute to an environment where all individuals are welcomed, valued, and treated with dignity.

Membership is open to those who support the principles and purpose of Nutwood and who conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the values of the community. While Nutwood honors its history and traditions, every member shares the responsibility of preserving its welcoming spirit for present and future generations.

All members are encouraged to participate in community activities, volunteer efforts, fellowship, music, dancing, education, and acts of service. Every member has both the privilege of belonging and the responsibility of helping Nutwood remain a place of trust, friendship, and genuine human connection.

Article III — Leadership and Stewardship

The leadership of Nutwood exists to serve the community, preserve its traditions, and promote its continued growth. Every leadership position is a position of stewardship, carrying with it the responsibility to lead with integrity, fairness, respect, and accountability.

The Founder & Community Owner serves as the final authority on all matters concerning the Charter, official appointments, community governance, policies, and the preservation of the Nutwood Master Library. Leadership responsibilities may be delegated to appointed officers, directors, coordinators, and other community leaders, but ultimate responsibility for the community remains with the Founder & Community Owner.

All appointed leaders are expected to encourage participation, support fellow members, protect the welcoming spirit of Nutwood, and act in the best interests of the community. Leadership is founded upon service rather than privilege, and every leader is entrusted with helping Nutwood remain a place of friendship, trust, kindness, and genuine human connection.

Article IV — Rights and Responsibilities of Members

Every member of Nutwood shall be treated with dignity, respect, fairness, and kindness. Each member has the right to participate in community activities, express ideas respectfully, and enjoy a safe, welcoming environment free from harassment, discrimination, or intimidation.

With these rights come responsibilities. Every member is expected to uphold the values of the Nutwood community by treating others with courtesy, acting honestly, respecting community guidelines, protecting the reputation of Nutwood, and contributing positively to its fellowship and traditions.

Members are encouraged to resolve disagreements peacefully, support one another during times of need, welcome newcomers, and strengthen the bonds of friendship that unite the community. Conduct that intentionally harms the community or undermines its principles may be addressed through the community's established leadership and governance.

The strength of Nutwood rests not only in its leadership but in the character, integrity, and commitment of every member.

Article V — Community Activities and Service

Nutwood encourages every member to actively participate in the life of the community through fellowship, education, recreation, volunteerism, and acts of service. Community activities are intended to strengthen friendships, promote inclusion, and create lasting memories while reflecting the values of Nutwood.

The community recognizes music, dancing, social gatherings, educational programs, peer support, community outreach, and volunteer service as important expressions of its mission. Members are encouraged to contribute their time, talents, and abilities to help these activities succeed.

Nutwood believes that service to one another and to the broader community demonstrates the character of its members. Every act of kindness, every helping hand, and every effort to improve the lives of others strengthens the bonds that unite the community.

Through participation and service, members help preserve the traditions of Nutwood while building a welcoming community for future generations.

Article VI — Community Traditions and Heritage

Nutwood shall preserve and honor its traditions, history, and heritage as a living legacy for present and future generations. The community recognizes that its customs, celebrations, stories, symbols, music, volunteer service, and shared experiences strengthen the bonds of friendship and create a lasting sense of belonging.

Members are encouraged to participate in and help preserve the traditions that define Nutwood, including community gatherings, music events, fellowship, acts of service, and the continued stewardship of places and records that hold historical significance. These traditions shall be passed forward with respect for the community's history while allowing thoughtful growth that remains faithful to the principles of the Charter.

The Nutwood Master Library shall preserve the official history, traditions, and canon of the community so that future generations may understand the origins, values, and accomplishments of Nutwood.

The heritage of Nutwood belongs to the entire community and shall be protected with care, respect, and integrity.

Article VII — The Men and the Boys of Nutwood

The Men and the Boys of Nutwood are the heart of the community. They are united by friendship, trust, respect, kindness, compassion, and a shared commitment to building a welcoming place where every member feels valued and accepted.

Nutwood recognizes that each member brings unique talents, experiences, and perspectives that strengthen the community. Members are encouraged to support one another, celebrate each other's successes, offer encouragement during difficult times, and build lasting bonds through fellowship, music, dancing, volunteer service, and shared experiences.

The relationships formed within Nutwood shall be guided by mutual respect, personal responsibility, honesty, and consent. Every member is expected to contribute to an atmosphere where kindness is freely given, differences are respected, and every individual has the opportunity to belong and flourish.

The legacy of the Men and the Boys of Nutwood shall not be measured by titles or status, but by the friendships they build, the service they provide, the traditions they preserve, and the positive impact they leave upon the community and those who follow.

Article VIII — Governance, Amendments, and Continuity

This Charter shall serve as the enduring framework for the governance of Nutwood. It is intended to provide stability while allowing the community to grow and adapt in a manner consistent with its founding principles.

The Founder & Community Owner shall have the authority to propose, approve, amend, interpret, or repeal Charter provisions when necessary for the continued well-being of the community. Amendments shall preserve the spirit, purpose, and values of Nutwood and shall not conflict with the foundational principles established by this Charter.

Official amendments, directives, and interpretations shall become part of the permanent historical record and shall be preserved within the Original Charter of Nutwood and the Nutwood Master Library. When a provision is amended, the original record shall be retained as part of the community's historical archive unless expressly superseded by the Founder & Community Owner.

The Charter is intended to ensure the continuity of Nutwood so that its traditions, governance, and values may endure for present and future generations.

Article IX — Preservation of the Community

Nutwood shall be preserved as a community dedicated to friendship, trust, respect, kindness, service, and genuine human connection. Every member shares the responsibility of protecting the character, traditions, and welcoming spirit that define the community.

The preservation of Nutwood includes its people, its history, its traditions, its official records, its events, its symbols, and the places that hold significance to the community. These shall be maintained with care so that future generations may understand and appreciate the legacy entrusted to them.

Members are encouraged to serve as stewards of Nutwood by supporting one another, participating in community life, preserving approved traditions, and strengthening the bonds that unite the community. Through these efforts, the values of Nutwood shall endure beyond any single generation.

The Original Charter of Nutwood and the Nutwood Master Library shall together serve as the permanent guardians of the community's governance, history, traditions, and official canon, ensuring that the legacy of Nutwood remains protected for all who follow.

Article X — Official Records

The Nutwood Master Library shall serve as the official archive of the community, preserving its Charter, history, traditions, appointments, decisions, and other official records.

Material shall be recognized as official canon only upon approval by the Founder & Community Owner. Drafts, unverified recollections, and proposed additions shall be clearly identified until approved.

Approved records shall contain the complete authorized text. Titles, indexes, and summaries may assist in organizing the archive but shall not replace the full records they describe.

Corrections and amendments shall be documented so that the community can distinguish current approved records from earlier versions. Missing historical wording shall be identified honestly, and any proposed reconstruction shall require approval before becoming official canon.

Article XI — Ratification and Authority

This Charter shall serve as the official and supreme governing document of the Nutwood community. Upon approval by the Founder & Community Owner, each article shall become part of the permanent Charter and shall remain in full force unless amended in accordance with the provisions of this Charter.

The Original Charter of Nutwood shall guide the governance, traditions, leadership, official records, and continued development of the community. All community policies, appointments, departments, and official actions shall be consistent with the principles established herein.

The authority of this Charter is founded upon the community's commitment to friendship, trust, respect, kindness, service, integrity, and genuine human connection. Every member and leader is encouraged to uphold these principles in both word and deed.

This Charter is hereby declared the permanent constitutional foundation of Nutwood and shall be preserved within the Nutwood Master Library as an enduring record of the community's values, governance, and legacy for present and future generations.

Article XII — Dissolution and Perpetual Legacy

The purpose of Nutwood is to endure as a lasting community founded upon friendship, trust, respect, kindness, service, and genuine human connection. Every reasonable effort shall be made to preserve the community, its traditions, and its heritage for future generations.

Should the active operations of the community ever cease, the history, official records, Charter, traditions, and approved canon preserved within the Nutwood Master Library shall remain the permanent legacy of Nutwood. These records shall continue to stand as the official historical account of the community's values, accomplishments, and enduring spirit.

No dissolution, transition, or period of inactivity shall diminish the significance of the friendships formed, the service performed, or the lives positively influenced through Nutwood. The legacy of the community shall continue through its preserved history and the principles established by this Charter.

The spirit of Nutwood shall always be measured not by buildings, events, or titles, but by the kindness shared, the friendships created, and the lasting impact left upon all who became part of its story.

Chronicles of Nutwood

Book One — Where It All Began. Open a chapter below, or read the complete edition. Book Two — The Living Chronicles continues the story in the finished Lodge.

Read the complete Book One Read Book Two — The Living Chronicles

Chapter I — The Original Nutty Night

The Original Nutty Night wasn't grand. It didn't need to be.

Its importance came from the people who gathered there.

Men arrived as strangers and gradually became friends. They learned one another's

personalities, shared stories, laughed together, danced together, and began looking out for

one another.

Meerkat Park became part of the community's everyday life. Its trails offered places to walk

and talk, while the lounge provided a place to gather.

The little Nutty Night became more than a lounge.

It became home.

Chapter II — The Little Lounge

The Original Nutty Night had a personality all its own.

There was always somebody talking, somebody laughing, somebody choosing the next song,

and somebody insisting that their choice was obviously better.

The men became comfortable around one another and developed the easy familiarity of

close friends.

The little lounge became a place where people could arrive as strangers and leave feeling like they had made a friend.

Nobody realized at first that they were creating history.

They were simply living it.

But eventually, the little building began to reveal its greatest problem.

There were too many people who wanted to be there.

The community had outgrown its first home.

They needed somewhere larger.

They didn't want to abandon what they had created. They wanted to build something that

could preserve the spirit of the Original Nutty Night while giving the growing community

room to flourish.

Chapter III — The Trail South

The members began looking south.

A trail stretched approximately two miles from the old Nutty Night and Meerkat Park toward a promising new location.

The trail became an important part of the story.

Members walked it together while discussing what their future home might become. They

imagined a place large enough for everyone, somewhere they could gather, stay, dance,

laugh, share meals, welcome visitors, and continue building their community.

Eventually they found the place.

There was only one question:

Who was going to build it?

The answer was simple.

They were.

Chapter IV — Building the Lodge

The members began constructing their new home themselves.

Some had experience with building. Others simply showed up ready to work. They carried

materials, cleared the property, raised walls, worked on rooms, cleaned up, supplied food,

and helped wherever they could.

The construction became a community project.

Every completed wall represented another step toward their future. Every shared workday

created another memory.

They weren't merely constructing a building.

They were building a home together.

Eventually, the structure began to rise into something much larger than the little lounge they

had left behind.

Chapter V — The Lodge Takes Shape

The building continued to grow.

Floor by floor and room by room, the new home became a huge two-story lodge.

The members created spaces for gathering, relaxing, dancing, eating, sleeping, and spending

time together.

The lodge was expansive and spacious, but its greatest value wasn't in its size or

construction.

Its value came from the people who filled it.

When someone walked through the front door, they could feel the difference immediately:

smiles, hugs, laughter, music, friendship, and belonging.

The community had finally built the home it had dreamed about.

Chapter VI — The Great Community Bedroom

The second floor contained one of the lodge's most distinctive features.

Instead of creating many small bedrooms, the members created one enormous community

bedroom large enough for twenty beds.

Everyone had a place to sleep, yet the room maintained the feeling of a shared community

space.

It became another expression of what Nutwood represented: togetherness rather than

isolation.

The lodge was no longer simply a building.

It had become a home for the community.

Chapter VII — Life at the Lodge

Nutwood Commons Lodge became an unusually relaxed household.

The men knew one another well and were comfortable being themselves around their

friends. The home developed a clothes-optional culture in which personal comfort and

mutual respect were important.

The atmosphere was informal, playful, and affectionate.

There was music playing, conversations happening in different rooms, people wandering

through the house, friends teasing one another, and plenty of laughter.

The lodge had its own personality.

And with that many close friends living together, mischief was inevitable.

Chapter VIII — Boys Will Be Boys

The men of Nutwood developed countless inside jokes and traditions.

The phrase “boys will be boys” became a familiar explanation whenever harmless mischief

got out of hand.

There were playful arguments, ridiculous challenges, spontaneous dancing, teasing, practical jokes, and stories that became increasingly exaggerated every time they were retold.

The laughter was as much a part of the lodge as the furniture.

And whenever the boys became particularly ridiculous, there was always one observer who

seemed to know exactly what was happening.

Nutmeg.

Chapter IX — Nutmeg, the Wise Old Squirrel

Nutmeg was the wise old squirrel who seemed to have been around forever.

He knew the history of the Original Nutty Night, remembered the days beside Meerkat Park,

watched the members follow the trail south, and observed the construction of the lodge.

Nutmeg became a quiet keeper of Nutwood's history.

He didn't interfere much.

He watched.

He listened.

And when the boys got themselves into some ridiculous situation, Nutmeg usually had the

same response:

A slow shake of his head and a knowing smile.

He understood something the younger members sometimes forgot:

Every silly moment eventually becomes part of the story.

Chapter X — Tender Moments

For all the joking and mischief, there was a deeply affectionate side to life at Nutwood

Commons Lodge.

The men cared about one another.

They shared quiet conversations after long days. Friends offered hugs, encouragement,

companionship, and comfort when someone needed it.

Sometimes the most meaningful moments were the simplest ones.

Sitting together.

Listening.

Laughing quietly.

Being there for someone.

The lodge had been built with lumber, nails, tools, and hard work.

But the thing that truly held the community together was something much stronger:

friendship, trust, affection, and belonging.

Chapter XI — The Playful Spirit

Because the men knew each other so well, playful teasing became part of everyday life.

Compliments, jokes, teasing, and affectionate admiration were common.

Nobody was particularly surprised when a quiet evening suddenly turned into laughter

throughout the house.

Nutmeg occasionally watched these events from his favorite perch and wondered how a

community supposedly built around peace and relaxation could generate quite so much

commotion.

Then again, he had learned something important:

Nutwood wasn't supposed to be quiet.

It was supposed to be alive.

Chapter XII — The Hallways

Nutwood Commons Lodge was a spacious and expensive home.

There was plenty of room.

There were wide spaces, large rooms, and enough hallways that nobody needed to squeeze

past anyone.

And yet, somehow, the boys always seemed to cross paths.

Someone would step aside at exactly the wrong moment. Two friends would approach the

same doorway. Someone would turn around just as someone else was passing.

A shoulder brushed a shoulder.

A laugh followed.

Someone would say, “Excuse me.”

And Nutmeg would inevitably look over with that familiar expression that seemed to say:

“You boys have an entire house. How do you keep finding each other?”

Nobody ever had a particularly convincing answer.

And that, naturally, became another Nutwood story.
